Musak nace del concepto de mejoramiento de ambiente en los ascensores ,George Owen Squire lo crea en 1934 para reducir el estrés dentro de los ascensores. Más tarde, se traslada esta idea a las fábricas para crear ambientes propicios para el trabajo, esto permitiría mejorar la productividad en los lugares de trabajo. De esta forma, se comprueba como la música puede cambiar la conducta de las personas al generar ambientes específicos. En la actualidad, Muzak compone música para toda clase de negocios analizando a fondo el ambiente más propicio para el lugar. Musak está en los Centros Comerciales, Zoológicos, Hoteles, Restaurantes, etc.
